About me

I’m Jason, a woodcarver whose journey started by accident and then became a necessity. What began as a simple moment of discovery turned into a passion I’ve poured years into—learning, shaping, refining—all without formal training. As an autodidact, every piece I carve carries the weight of experience, trial, failure, and persistence.

Before I discovered woodcarving, I was immersed in the fast-paced world of business, leading my own company with drive and determination. Life has a way of shifting paths, and when I started carving, I uncovered something unexpected—a deep, personal connection to the craft. Each cut, each curve, each finished piece held a meaning beyond the wood itself.

Over time, arthritis made carving more difficult. Some days, my hands ache, and I wonder how much longer I’ll be able to keep going. But despite the challenges, I carve on—because this isn’t just about creating objects. It’s about the joy each piece brings to someone. It’s about offering a moment of peace in a world that often feels overwhelming. If my work can bring even the smallest smile, if it can remind someone that beauty still exists, then every struggle is worth it—because it’s never just about the wood…it’s about the smiles.

For now, I keep carving, keep creating, and keep finding meaning in the work I do.

“Each piece is an organic creation from within my head or it’s something I see hidden inside the wood and it becomes an unwrapping adventure. It’s often a combination of both processes.”     – Jason
