“Burton”, a member of the monster series, is hand carved and made of an elm log. The style is whimsical with one of a kind to it-a freestyle carving that is whimsical, human-like in some aspects and contorted in others. It has been hand carved by Jason Ray, who did not create any specific drawing board or sketch beforehand. This sculpture is one of his favorites because it offers multiple interpretations and people can really see themselves in it.
The design is one-of-a-kind, with the personality that speaks to you.

“Burton” is a one-of-a-kind work of art, carved and shaped using an assortment of tools including a variety of saws, grinders, chisels, files, and sanding abrasives.
Besides sawdust, it’s my goal to create interesting conversation pieces that will make you smile. Just like people… no two of my creations are exactly the same, nor is each piece perfect.
Most critics do not consider my work as fine art. Some folks feel I could have done a better job sanding, or more time should be put into the finishing… To me, it just adds that special “handmade touch”.
Thanks for your support, and I hope you enjoy my work.
~ Jason Ray
